The Vacancy

This is a permanent position and requires you to be available throughout the year. We cannot recruit any more university students returning for the summer.

The Abbey Pub, Shrewsbury is known for its genuine friendly service. Serving classic pub food alongside an extensive Real Ale & Real Cider offering. We have received many awards for our Real ale & Cider offering including Campaign for Cider pub of the year for Shrewsbury & West Shropshire 2022 and appear regularly in the Good Beer Guide.

Alongside our amazing drink range is our lovely pub. With classic décor alongside a recent £86,000 garden investment. The Abbey Pub is a great place to not only visit but also work. And this is where you come in...........

We are looking for friendly, engaging and reliable team players to join our front of house team for part time positions up to 30 hours per week, working a variety of shifts mainly during the evenings and weekends. we ask all our team to be available for bank holidays and the Christmas period.

You must be over 18 years old due to serving alcohol.

Before you apply please think about how you will get to and from work. Public transport is tricky, especially after 10pm.

What are we looking for?

  • It goes without saying. You must have impeccable time keeping and maintain a great attendance record.
  • Interact with our guests in a friendly and welcoming manner. Show them your brilliant personality.
  • General cleaning duties you would expect with working in a restaurant or pub.
  • take orders and serve our guest there food and drink.
  • Know your products. We will guide you along the way.
